Upon learning he's to be a father, Brent types a letter to his incoming child detailing how pain - no matter how small and insignificant - will be an inevitable part of their life. A kaleidoscope of comedic violence ensues that leads us to the source material for Brent's theory: the loss of his mother.
The idea was born from a series of vexing, self-inflicted wounds (splinters, toe-jams, head-knocks) that had me feeling cursed from the heavens above. This was also in the aftermath of the sucessive passing of both of my parents. Life was dishing up the major pains while still managing to humiliate me with random smaller ones. It was in this exasperated and grief-laden frenzy that I wrote "I'm Sorry (in the Future)."
